Vintage African Glass Bone Shell Necklace, Tribal Hindu Deity Hanuman Bajrangbali Necklace

This very feminine and delicate necklace is made out of vintage African glass beads in creamy white color, old shell beads, bone beads and pure silver beads from Jaipur and a 925 hallmark silver Hanuman pendant from Rajasthan, India.
(The Hanuman pendant is contemporary silver and not a vintage piece.)

Lord Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and one of the central characters in the various versions of the epic Ramayana found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, is worshiped for his bravery and fearlessness. He has many names like Maruti, Pawansuta, Bajrangbali, Mangalmurti and is considered to be strong and protective and is especially called upon for strength and comfort during times of fear and distress.

The shell beads have some imperfections that I have tried to highlight in the photos. These imperfections, in my opinion, add to the character and talk of the journey of the bead (the beauty of old beads is in their journey and the people who have loved and cherished them in different forms, don't you think? :))
However if those imperfections bother you, you can always turn them around when you wear the necklace.

The four floral silver rondelle beads around the bone beads are from Jaipur, India and are a higher quality silver than sterling 92.5%.

A Bali silver hook clasp completes the necklace. I added the "Brave" charm in honor of Lord Hanuman and with a prayer that this provides strength to the wearer and serves as a reminder of the "Brave" hidden within her. (The charm is a silver plated lead free, nickel free alloy.)

The necklace measures approx. 17 inches from end to end and sits pretty and delicate around the neck.
