Inspired by the famous painting "Sun Fish-II" by expressionist artist Alfred Gockel, this design depicts two fishes and an abstract figure.
Alfred Gockel creates powerfully distinctive abstracts which are alive with rich primary colors, deep black accents, ebbing and flowing lines, and intensely kinetic motion. Born in Germany, Gockel had his first artwork published when he was 8 years old.
Fine quality silk makes this beautiful throw pillow cover soft to the touch and the raised swirl texture of the embroidery adds an interesting dimension. Use it to breathe life and artistic energy into any room. It is perfect for a living space couch, home office sofa or that special chair you sink into with your hot cuppa after a long day's work.
It would make an ideal gift for family and friends who appreciate art and beauty.
This pillow cover ships here directly from the workshop in Kashmir.
Completely hand embroidered using traditional chain stitch embroidery in silk threads, the pillow cover is 70% silk and 30% cotton with a fine quality canvas back. Pillow insert is not included but can be bought from any home store locally.
Size: Approx. 18 inches x 18 inches.
(The size may vary slightly as each piece is hand-crafted. The cover fits snugly on 18x18 inch inners.)
Care instructions: Dry clean only. The covers have a hidden flap and zipper closure at the back so they can be easily removed. The soft plastic zipper ensures there is no accidental tugging of silk threads.
I found these beautiful black and white watercolor glass pendants of Ganesha and just had to use them in the form of a Rakhi. I used Irish linen jewelry cords in shades of purple/lavender to bring out the purple in the painting.
Although the color black is a less popular choice of color in Hindu mythology, according to color psychology, it has immense spiritual significance. It represents power, mystery, strength, authority, elegance and sophistication. Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red and is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition.
The presence of Lord Ganesha, the God of success and destroyer of evil and obstacles along with the anchor symbol representing stability and strength make this Rakhi not just a piece of art but also an ideal Rakhi signifying success and achievement.
To convert it into a trinket, simply unknot the threads and slide out the central charm. Hook the "Ganesha" charm to the carabiner clip provided alongside through the clasp. It can be used to accessorize a gym bag, car, home or workspace. The purple threads can be used to wrap gifts, tie flowers, hang tree ornaments (and other creative uses), the paper packaging can be recycled and the organza string bag can be reused as a gift bag or as storage for accessories.
Ships free within USA in a drool-worthy gift packaging. (Select "Free Rakhi Shipping" option on the shipping method menu.)
