Hindu God Lakshmi Blessing Hands Rajasthan Miniature Art Sterling Silver Diwali Necklace

This necklace features a small hand painted silver pendant that illustrates the sacred symbol of Goddess Lakshmi's hands lifted up in blessings. The miniature was painted by an artist in Jaipur, Rajasthan,
In Indian religious scriptures, Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity and it is believed that wherever she goes, there is abundance and wealth. These hands signify Her blessings are hence considered pious and fortifying and every year during the Diwali (or Deepawali) festival, they are worn or drawn in Indian homes to invite the Goddess into their lives.

I used red, orange and sienna Raku ceramic beads coupled with ivory white glass disc beads to make this pendant into a sweet and charming choker length necklace. It is approx. 17.5 inches long so it sits very close to the clavicle but isn't as snug as a conventional choker. The metal beads used through the length of the necklace are a combination of silver plated zinc and Bali silver beads. A Bali silver clasp completes the look.
